Context

Imagine waking up with a new superpower: photographic memory. Every moment you’ve lived, stored perfectly in your mind. No filters. No edits. Just real memories, ready to be felt and shared. But there's a twist…

Some memories don’t belong to just one person. They’re woven between people and are stitched together by laughter, tears, or something unspoken. But when we choose to revisit or share them with others, whose permission are we asking? Memories are delicate things, and when they’re shared, they deserve care, respect, and consent. Because a moment shared without permission isn’t connection, it’s a boundary crossed.

PRoblem

Today, while modern social media platforms are effective in creating instant connections and sparking new relationships, they often promote superficial, hyper-curated content. Users tend to share their best moments, creating picture perfect highlight reels that don’t accurately reflect the full authentic human experience. Over time, this contributes to feelings of isolation and disconnection despite being digitally “connected” across apps.

Social Media Damages Mental Health

Recent studies show that increased use of social media causes us to be lonelier and more self critical.

Connection Allows us to Thrive

Close relationships support our well-being, confidence and give us a support system. Its important to maintain these relationships during time apart.

Loneliness is on the Rise

Surveys report that 64.7% of college students report they feel lonely and 51.7% of college students are concerned about their friends’ mental health.

FINAL DESIGN

Share a memory

Use the microphone or enter in any part of a memory you remember (sounds, location, time, people, etc) Momento will do the retrieval for you!

For those who experience cognitive strain or have pre-existing conditions that make memory recall challenging, we offer a streamlined memory retrieval option called BrainDrop—think Bluetooth or AirDrop, but for your brain to the device! By directly transmitting memories from the device to the user’s mind, it reduces the effort required for recall, allowing for a smoother, more natural experience. This feature enhances accessibility and reduces cognitive load, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their challenges, can relive their memories with ease and authenticity.

Not every memory is for everyone. You should have control. Set time limits, add content warnings, and decide who gets to see what.
